Arsenal have confirmed their second signing of the summer transfer window with Albert Sambi Lokonga joining them from Anderlecht.
The Belgian has joined the club for a reported fee of around €17.5m. The deal could rise to €21m with performance-based add-ons.
The 21-year-old told the club’s official website: “It’s a big step, but I feel confident because we have to be.”
“In the football world, you have to feel confident about yourself, but I’m looking to play in this league and I can’t wait to start.”
The midfielder has become the club’s second acquisition of the summer after the arrival of left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica.
He is considered a long-term prospect, and the club are likely to pursue another experienced midfielder in the coming weeks.
White is scheduled to undergo his medical on July 26. He will sign a four-year contract with the club worth £120,000-a-week.
