Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka could reportedly made the move to Roma by next week, Sky Sport Italy claims.
The Swiss has been fancied to join the Giallorossi, but the Serie A club have yet to meet the Gunners’ price tag.
They have made an opening offer of €15m that remains below the reported asking price of around €20m.
According to Sky Sport Italy, the Giallorossi are in advanced talks with the Gunners, and a deal is almost finalised.
Xhaka is expected to return from holiday next week, and it is claimed that he will join Roma’s pre-season camp in Portugal.
The Gunners have already landed a new midfielder in Albert Sambi Lokonga, but they are eyeing another signing.
Manuel Locatelli has emerged as a top target for the club, but he continues to favour a move to Juventus this summer.
They have already made an opening bid for the Italian, and remain hopeful of luring him in the coming weeks.
