America’s war in Afghanistan is ending with a whimper. After 20 years, the deaths of 2,442 U.S. troops and more than 47,000 Afghan deaths, America’s longest war is winding down. The U.S. has spent $2.26 trillion over the past two decades on an invasion and occupation of the Central Asian country that was launched by former President George W. Bush.
