Chelsea and Manchester United will need to pay at least £42m to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni next summer.
The Frenchman has made immense progress over the past year at Monaco, and he is now regular part of the national team.
His development has caught the eye of top European clubs. Juventus are reportedly keen on signing him in January.
According to Tuttosport, Monaco are aware of the interest in Tchouameni, but they won’t sell him midway through the season.
Any transfer proposals will have to wait until next summer. The Principality club will demand around £42m for the midfielder.
The Blues are keen on pursuing a young defensive midfielder. Tchouameni is considered as a cheaper alternative to Declan Rice.
Meanwhile, United see him as a replacement for compatriot Paul Pogba, who could leave on a free transfer next summer.
Pogba’s contract expires at the end of the campaign. The World Cup winner has apparently made his mind up to move on.
