French defender Kurt Zouma has completed his move to West Ham United from Chelsea on a four-year contract.
The Hammers were keen on landing a central defender this summer, and Zouma was one of their top priorities.
The asking price was initially a stumbling block for them, but they managed to finalise a deal worth £25m earlier this week.
Zouma underwent his medical in Paris. After a second opinion from the London medical team, the transfer has been announced.
He becomes the Hammers’ second acquisition of the summer after goalkeeper Alphonse Areola‘s arrival on a season-long loan.
The Hammers could still pursue a new striker before the transfer deadline owing to Michail Antonio‘s injury record in recent years.
The east London club qualified for the Europa League with a sixth-place finish last term, and they are aiming to do better this term.
