The agent of Jorginho has clarified that the midfielder will be staying with Chelsea for the 2021/22 campaign.
Jorginho struggled for regular game time during the first half of last season, but his fortunes changed after Thomas Tuchel‘s arrival as manager.
The Italy international was a regular in the centre of the park between January and May, and won over many of the club’s supporters.
He has been playing a starring role for Italy at the European Championships, and his agent Joao Santos has now dismissed any speculation.
Santos confirmed that the 29-year-old will stay put with the Blues with Tuchel regarding him as a key player for next season.
Jorginho’s contract with the Blues expires in the summer of 2023, and the club are expected to extend his deal in the coming weeks.
Talks are also planned with his midfield partner N’Golo Kante.
