Manchester United have opened negotiations with Rennes to land the signature of Eduardo Camavinga.
Camavinga has entered the final year of his contract, and the French outfit are expected to sell him.
He is reportedly keen on joining Paris Saint-Germain, but United are hopeful of convincing him.
It is added that the club have made direct contact with the midfielder’s agents regarding a potential move.
Camavinga was valued at around £60 million last summer, but he could be available for just £25m.
Rennes were initially holding out for £50m, but changed their stance due to the player’s contract situation.
The Blues are not actively searching for a new central midfielder after the improved form of Jorginho.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have their sights elsewhere as Camavinga wants the assurance of European football.
The Gunners won’t be playing in Europe for the first time in 26 years.
