Manchester United could make an approach to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka this summer.
The Red Devils are expected to spend big, and they have already agreed to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
A new midfielder is not a priority for them, but their stance could change if Pogba heads for the exit door in the coming weeks.
Pogba’s current contract expires in 12 months’ time, and he has yet to agree terms over a possible extension.
According to Bild, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Goretzka, who is currently in a contract stand-off with Bayern.
Goretzka wants £300,000-a-week to extend his contract expiring in June 2022. This has reportedly stalled negotiations.
United could make a formal offer to sign the Germany international if they decide to part ways with Pogba this summer.
Goretzka played just 32 games last season amid injuries, but still impressed with a tally of eight goals and nine assists.
He is valued at around €70 million by Bayern.
