A well-known Hollywood actress is speaking out about her experience with COVID-19 early in the outbreak.
According to CNN, Salma Hayek, the 54-year-old star of Like a Boss and Desperado, battled a near-fatal attack of the virus that killed over 500,000 people in the United States.
Hayek recently told reporters from the entertainment magazine Variety that she caught the virus early in the pandemic and was nearly hospitalised.
Hayek told Variety, “My doctor pushed me to go to the hospital because it was so awful.” “‘No, thank you,’ I replied. ‘I’d rather die at home,’ she says.”
Hayek claimed she was placed on oxygen and placed in self-isolation at her home for seven weeks.
She is currently back at work in Hollywood and in high spirits.
The actress is currently concentrating on her role in Ridley Scott’s film “House of Gucci.”
Despite her work ethic, Hayek claims she lacks the vigour she once possessed.
Over 33 million COVID-19 cases had been recorded in the United States as of Thursday.
